TrapeZIUS BOTox

There are a variety of ways Botox can enhance our appearance, as well as treat medical conditions. Did you know that there is another beauty benefit of Botox and it is referred to as “Traptox.” Traptox is the injection of a neuromodulator, such as Botox, into the trapezius muscle. While trapezius Botox can be used to relieve tension and alleviate pain, cosmetically it is used to slim the shoulder and neck area.

What and where is the trapezius muscle? The trapezius is a large triangular muscle that extends over the back of the neck and shoulders and moves the head and shoulder blades. This muscle has many important functions as it is responsible for posture, shrugging shoulders, and more. Consistent working of these muscles can lead to hypertrophy, or increase in size along with a bulky cosmetic appearance.

Many of us spend a large part of our day working on a laptop or desktop, leaning forward which can cause overuse of our trapezius muscles making them appear larger than desired, think football player shoulders. This predominantly affects females and could be caused by strain, pain, psychological stress, and trigger points. Fortunately, there are solutions to help with the chronic tension and muscle bulkiness.

Botox, or other neuromodulators such as Xeomin and Dysport work by weakening muscle function. Once injected, the toxin will restrict the muscle causing relaxation and softening. Results last anywhere between 3 - 5 months and it must be repeated to maintain the desired benefits.

By treating the trapezius area with Botox, you can expect relaxation of the muscles, which can therefore improve posture and reduce the stress on the neck and shoulders. People often say it gives a “lengthening effect” as it gives the appearance of a longer neck. Traptox might just be your solution for a more confident and relaxed appearance.
