How Frequently Should I be Getting Facials?

Facials are a fantastic way to care for your skin and mind. Who wouldn't want to relax while receiving a treatment that slows down the aging process and results in healthy looking skin? A common question is how often should you go in for a facial.

Depending on your skin type and skin goals, the frequency of your facials can range from one treatment a month to treatments every 3 months. Facials can provide a deeper exfoliation and extraction than you can achieve yourself at home. Though your home skincare routine plays an important factor in skin health, facial extractions can remove sebum, oil, and dead skin cells. Extractions will also remove whiteheads and blackheads, allowing serums and creams to penetrate through the skin. Allowing products to penetrate through the skin will also assist with anti-aging and skin brightening. Exfoliation is another key component of facials. Through exfoliation, the skin will become smoother and softer, as well as aid in anti-aging by absorbing the antioxidants and nutrients of serums and moisturizers.

Facials do a wonderful job detoxifying the skin and reducing inflammation by working on the lymphatic system, decreasing redness and inflammation. This can be beneficial for those who suffer from acne. Those with congested skin are recommended to get a facial once a month until breakouts are under control. Facials will improve the appearance of pores, reduce the breakouts, and decrease puffiness. For mild congested skin or non-acneic skin, facials are recommended every three months for a deep cleaning. With consistent treatments three times a month, facials can help shrink your pores, promote collagen production, and increase circulation.

Similar to your visits to the dentists, facials provide an effective deep cleaning that cannot be achieved at home. Through exfoliation, extractions, and even LED light therapy, you can achieve a balanced and healthy complexion. Facials are also much more relaxing than dentist visits, and have been shown to activate your sympathetic nervous system. This activation can result in an uplifted mood, creating a healthier life.  Facials can be performed by a licensed esthetician, where you can further discuss your overall skin goals. We have multiple estheticians to help you achieve healthy skin. If you are interested or would like to schedule an appointment, you can book here.
